Links please!

Hey guys, I'm back with another link for you!

Today, I want to talk about something I know a lot of you are already thinking:  I am a huge nerd.

Yes, it's true.  I play video games, I enjoy using Excel, I wear Warcraft T-shirts unironically.

I also read a comic about math.  No, you didn't read that incorrectly.  There is an entire web comic based (almost) entirely on math.

What, you don't believe me?

Oh yeah.  That's right.  Graphs right in the comic *swoon*

XKCD, by Randall Munroe, is just fantastic. There are laughs, there are thought provoking images, there are fun things for all.

I shall leave you with another recent great one.  Then you should totally CLICK HERE, and peruse his backlog at your leisure.

Linked up!

Today, I have another link for you!

Want to waste time, but not a lot of it?

Well, then, 5 Second Films is for you! (Warning, autoplay video ahead!)

The title is rather self-explanatory, they do VERY short movies every weekday.

They are mostly one-shot jokes that'll keep you laughing every day!

To start, I thought I'd share the video that got me hook, but go and watch their massive backlog, it'll only take a little while!

Linkses...I want all the linkses

It's time for another link!

Today I would like to share:

Television Without Pity!

This is my first and top destination for TV recaps.  As their saying goes, "Spare the snark, spoil the network."

These are not always positive reviews, which is a good thing.  So many sites only give good reviews, in hopes of getting in a TV show's, or network's good graces, that they completely miss the point of reading a review:  to know if it is something you would like.

TWOP, as the cool kids call it, was bought out by NBC Universal a couple of years ago.  Yes, if you are wondering, the quality did go down slightly.  The recappers seem to be expected to pump out a huge volume of reviews, and as I have learned in this last month and a half of blogging, writing that much is HARD, and the quality shows.

BUT:  most of the reviews are solid, and I really enjoy seeing what other people thought of my shows, and being shown things I missed the first time through.

There is also a thriving forum community that doesn't feed the trolls, and several other side blogs and lists that TWOP handles as well, so there is always lots to see.

AMG, how did it get to be morning already?

I sat and tried to come up with a post for this morning, and I got nothin.

Instead, I'd like to share with you a video by a MMO reviewer who goes by the handle of ChaosD1

It's just about everything that I've been trying to do in my Warcraft posts, but better.

Anyway, it's a bit sweary, but I think it lays a good overview of a lot of points a person who is unfamiliar may have.

It does clock in at nearly 45 minutes, so I hope you have some time!

Enjoy!

Linkage!

Today I have for you another site I visit just about every day:

Cracked.com!

Cracked specializes in lists.  They post two to three lists EVERY day, with their staff of about 10-15 people.

Some of my favorites include:

18 images you won't believe aren't photoshopped

7 Artists Who Secretly Made your Favorite movies

The 8 Creepiest Glitches Hidden in Popular Video Games

One of their columnist, John Cleese is quickly becoming one of my favorites, with lists like 5 Things Nobody Tells You About Having a Career, or The 5 Stupidest Habit You Develop Growing Up Poor.

This website is terribly addictive, I've gotten sucked into what I call the 'Cracked Loop,' where I click on related articles linked at the end of the one I was reading, and stay on the site for hours upon hours at a time.

Luckily for me now, I've read most of the articles on the site, but there are a few that I read whenever I come across them, cause they amuse me that much.

So, if you are looking for a fun little diversion for an hour or two, or more if you want, check out Cracked!

Midday link party!

I thought I'd share another site I rather enjoy here today:

Pajiba!

I first found this site when all they did was movie reviews.  It seems I agree with just about every movie review they write, which is awesome.  They have a slightly lower tolerance for mindless entertainment than I do, but I just keep that in mind as I read!

They have since branched out into TV reviews, opinion pieces, book reviews, a daily link roundup, and lots and lots of trade news, ie trailers, and casting rumors.

For just about everythign entertainment news related, Pajiba is a great resource!  (After me, of course)

Since I couldn't figure out how to embed the flash, I just found a youtube video, but CLICK HERE if you want to see a nice, crisp flash that's NOT on Ebaums world!

Video Madness!

One of my favorite youtube channels is the Fine Bros, and their series, Kids React and Teens React.

They put out a new video a few weeks ago that amused me greatly:

"I'm too LAZY to read books" about killed me.

Which other videos do you enjoy?

Link Madness!

Because I am a huge nerd, I spend a lot of time on the computer.  I find, or am pointed to, lots and lots of different websites.

I'd like to share some of those with you, starting...RIGHT NOW!  Woo-hoo!

The first site I'd like to spot light is...drumroll please...

That Guy with the Glasses!

Home of many of my favorite vloggers, including
  • Nostalgia Critic
  • Nostalgia Chick
  • Linkara
  • JesuOtaku
  • ToddintheShadows
  • Paw
Nostalgia Critic and Chick do something similar to what I am doing with Boy Meets World, and look back to nostalgic movies and tv shows, and critique them, usually negatively, but hilariously.

Linkara reviews bad comic books, and has a recurring series about the history of the Power Rangers

JesuOtaku reviews anime and manga, as well as has a recurring series about Digimon

ToddintheShadows reviews bad pop music

and Paw reviews 'music movies,' those with 6 or more songs

TGWTG has many more reviewers, and I'm sure they are plenty hilarious as well!
