Today in music history: 1989

Today, we look back to 1989 and find:

"If You Don't know Me By Now" by Simply Red.

No, your eyes aren't deceiving you, we have a remake of a song, sung by a group we just saw three days ago.

So they made this song seem very...weak.  In the original, you could hear the anguish, the strength in the singers words, especially in the chorus.

Here, though?  Not so much.  It doesn't even seem like they care one way or the other.  Also, the video itself is odd, with many chairs, for whatever reason.

What did you think of this one?

Previously in 1989:

Baby Don't Forget My Number

Good Thing

I'll Be Loving You (Forever)

I'll Be There For You

Like a Prayer

Rock On

Satisfied

Wind Beneath My Wings
