It was the best of times, it was the worst of times...
And for the people of Africa, they knew they would be saved because the great artists of the day sang them a song! Woohoo!
Or, as it turns out, sending money into a country where a dictatorship confiscates all the incoming money doesn't help as much as...someone, apparently, thought.
BUT: I'm not here to rip on people's effort at charity, I'm here to critique a song! And boy oh boy, was this a doozy.
Not only do we have tens of celebrities hamming it up in hopes of making people like them more, we have the same words, over and over again, for six minutes! What's not to love?
So, I obviously am not a huge fan of this song, but I gather some must be, considering the number of views it has on Youtube, and the number of thumbs up.
What do you think? Crap, drek, or something in between?
You know you'll catch yourself humming it at some point today... Plus, 85 was a good year :)
