Today in music history: 1986

Today, we look back to 1986, and find:

"On My Own" by Patti LaBelle, ft. Michael McDonald

Oh, my goodness.  The unfortunate facial hair.  The unfortunate HEAD hair.  The UNfortunate belt on a jumpsuit.  This song was a laugh riot, and I really don't think that's what they were going for.

From voices that did not blend well, or sound good together, to a video that attempted to be clever, and failed at every turn, this song was basically terrible.  I can't imagine what the musicscape must have been like for this song to hit number one.

I didn't even remember this song at all as I was listening.  What do you remember if anything?
