Today in music history:1988

Lokking back today, we find 1988, and:

"Foolish Beat" by Debbie Gibson.

Who knew??  Debbie Gibson wasn't a one-hit wonder.  Amazing.

Except not, cause this song was very amateurish, and not very good.  It comes across as very earnest, but without a lot of feeling, almost like a bad karaoke ballad.

The video was decent for an 80's video, but Debbie Gibson was waaay to young for this to work.  She just sounds like a middle schooler getting over their first breakup: "He was the first boy I ever loved.  I'll never love again!"

What did you think of this one?
