Today in music history: 1997

Today, we look back to a year we haven't seen in a while, 1997, where we find:

"I'll Be Missing You" by Puff Daddy and Faith Evans

I definitely remember this song coming out, but I don't think I really understood why at the time.

Now I know the facts surrouding it a bit better, and it's a sweet little thing written from one friend to another.

The word change out of the old Police song, while keeping the melody turned a slightly creepy song into a solid rememberance of a fallen friend.

What do you remember of this song?
